Sunset Bamboo Sennit rope is extracted from the leaf sheath around the trunk of the banana plant Musa Textilis, or Abaca, native to the Philippines. It is a traditional cordage made by plaiting or braiding the strands of Banana Plant Fibers. Due to its strength, durability, flexibility, buoyancy and resistance to salt water damage, Banana Sennit Rope was used to rig canoes, fishing industry use, erecting houses, general purpose rope for home use, etc. Also known as Manila Hemp, this natural tan color Abaca fiber material is Environment friendly. Sennit (or Sinnet) refers to the style of braid. It is hand woven to create a flat surface so that it is more suitable to wrapping around cylindrical objects like Bamboo poles.
